The mucilage in mullein acts to moisturise and soothe the mucous membranes in the throat.
In general, emollient, balsamic, expectorant, cough suppressant and anti-inflammatory.
Use for respiratory conditions: tonsillitis, sore throat, bronchitis, asthma; diarrhoea.
For internal use. Decoction: 2 g per cup. Boil for 2 minutes. Infuse for 10 minutes. Take three cups a day, one before every meal.
