L-carnitine is a derivative of beta-hydroxybutyric acid, endogenous substance discovered in 1905, which stimulates fat burning in cells. Through L-Carnitine free fatty acids are transported into the mitochondria of cells to be transformed into energy. It has been said that in his absence the fatty substances tend to accumulate in muscle, adipose tissue and arteries. Exogenous carnitine increases the pool of systemic and liver carnitine, increasing production and use of free fatty acids and ketones, maintaining muscle protein while fasting or exercise is vigorously. Although its effectiveness by many authors still doubted very often, it is equally true that others endorse so and so continued use improves outcome in sporting. Since fatty acids represent the main energy source used by aerobes low-intensity sports or the moderate-high intensity exceeding 50 minutes in length (from the lower levels of glycogen), L-Carnitine would better use of them providing a greater amount of energy for both skeletal and cardiac muscle. These reasons make it advisable for endurance sport practitioners or long-term, such as aerobics, team sports, walkers, athletes, cyclists, etc. L-Carnitine is able to provide extra calories in situations of intense training or strict calorie diet which could coexist possible endogenous carnitine deficiency, especially if not enough meat or fish consumed. DIRECTIONS: For situations of intense training in endurance sports: Take 3 measures 15 ml. or tablespoons ORANGE L-carnitine divided into two doses, 1 scoop in the morning and 2/2 hour before training. As an adjunct to weight control diets: 1 scoop in the morning and 1 scoop before eating. Store in the refrigerator after opening and best before 4 weeks.
