Orthosiphon, also called "Java Tea", is a herbaceous shrub of the labiatae family, whose origin dates back to northern Oceania and southeast Asia. Its flowers stand out, of a bluish white color, whose filamentous stamens resemble the whiskers of a cat. It contains, among other substances, mineral salts (mainly potassium), flavonoids (such as sinensetin), flavonic heterosides, caffeic acid and diterpenes.
Properties
